Mark Martindale is an avid beach goer who started sculpting sandcastles after being inspired at the Neptune Sandcastle Competition in Virginia Beach. For his fortieth birthday, Mark received a rather large sandbox in his back yard and has been castling ever since.

     Mark, a videographer by trade, owns his own business which gives him flexibility to put time into his craft. Some days during lunch he’ll even be out back working on his technique.  During the summers you can find him from sunup to sundown sculpting his sandcastles along the Carolina coast.

     Sand castling has always been a family project for the Martindales. The best part of the beach day is sitting around the sandcastle at sunset and appreciating the beauty and hard work that went into it.  It seems there’s a story with every sand castle! 

     Mark's family and friends have been huge supporters of his talent.  It’s a dream of Mark’s to be able to share his sandcastles with beach lovers all over the world.
